History

Bournemouth a loved seaside town which has become a spotlight for tourism to embellish yourself in the sunshine whilst having your feet up on a sandy beach. The area had an influx of development in the early 20th century, this allowed the Town Centre to flourish with theatres, cafes, cinemas and hotels. Other new buildings were the war memorial completed in 1921 and the Bournemouth Pavilion, the town's concert hall and grand theatre, finished in 1925. The town was lucky to dodge damage during the Second World War but saw a period of decline as a seaside resort in the post-war era.

Ever since 1880 the population had increased drastically, starting off at 17,000 but Since Bournemouth’s last census it has moved to a population of nearly 165,000 as there was clear figures to present there was a growth it was requested to attain an official city status

In 1980 the sunny seaside town, Bournemouth is known to be one of the first areas outside the larger cities to start up its own solo radio station. Broadcasting in parts of the countries such as Dorset and Hampshire.

Katsu Bar on Lansdowne Road offers authentic Japanese dishes, from sushi to their signature chicken katsu curry. Katsu’s aim is to bring authentic Japanese flavors to the people of Bournemouth, giving them an insight to good Japanese food. With the managers having over forty-two years’ hospitality experience between them they have taken on the task to be the duo to lead the Katsu team to the best it can be. If it’s their sushi or signature katsu chicken curry you’re interested in head down there.

Cote brasserie

Côte is inspired by the brasseries of Paris, this chain being one of my personal favorites, with relaxed dining serving authentic French cuisine. Cote take pride in their keen knowledge on French wines, they find you a wine which will compliment your meal, with multiple venues across the UK you can’t say no to the tasteful menu.

7Bone Burger Co

Offering a simple to extreme burgers the thing 7 bone doesn’t fail on is taste, with a range of burgers, fries, sliders and hotdogs along with some quirky cocktails, shakes and other drinks. They present to you a large open plan kitchen so you can watch your order being prepared. No need to book it’s a walk-in service which is well priced.

Key West Bar & Grill

A way to sit back and endorse yourself into Bournemouth’s spectacular sunsets. The relaxed, must visit destination located at the end of the iconic Bournemouth Pier. The breath-taking view of floor to ceiling windows. Enjoy their menu which varies from breakfast to dinner. Providing you with an wide selection to test your taste buds.

Zaza Café

Zaza Café prides itself in healthy food and refreshments served with high quality ingredients. Presenting the chance to pop in for an artisan coffee and browse the smoothies and shots they have to offer. They also have an array of vegetarian and vegan, gluten-free options, all freshly made.

The Cumberland

The Ventana Grand Café presents the best ingredients sourced and prepared from the talented head chef. If you are looking for an afternoon tea this is a great location. As well as being a café they also open to cooking up the locals’ traditional favorite roast dinners. They also do private dining events if you were looking to host something for a special occasion.

The coffee Club
a family run business eager to present the best beverages and food which is locally sourced to their guests. Their passion for Mediterranean cuisine has their chefs’ preparing meals which everyone will love, we highly recommend.

A family run winery has now become a hot spot, social hub for all wine lovers, They have developed a loved menu with international cheeses to compliment the 200+ wines to choose from. If you are a wine lover this is the place for you.

With the 1812 Lounge Bar being open for over 15 years, they have put into consideration to what the customer wants. From fine dining followed by some drinks afterwards with live music played throughout, it sounds like the perfect evening.

This venue showcases through four galleries the acclaimed work of Russel Coates. Stroll through the glorious gardens which were originally filled with marble and bronzed sculptures.
